Seller: Long Brothers Fine & Rare Books, ABAA, Seattle, WA, U.S.A.
First Edition
Printed Wrappers. Condition: Fine. Americana (illustrator). First Edition. 12mo. Pp. vi; 7 - 62. Fore edge untrimmed. Bound in printed wraps with embossed cameo of Lincoln on front cover. A lovely copy, mostly uncut. Book commemorates Lincoln's 108th birthday. Keynote address by John Hibben, who succeeded Woodrow Wilson as President of Princeton. (Interestingly, Hibben became a personal friend of Charles Lindbergh and served as a close counselor in the days following the infamous kidnapping.) Also includes an address by Senator Thomas Sterling of South Dakota who, coincidentally, began his legal practice in Springfield, Illinois. This issue of the annual "Addresses" is particularly uncommon. A nice copy, with a clear, removable protective plastic wrap.
