A fine study of an Australian artist whose life pretty much spanned the 20th Century (Hinder lived from 1906 to 1992). Profusely illustrated with colour plates and some b/w photographs. This copy has a nice & fitting association, being inscribed by Free "To dear Peter and Ursula/from Renee". Peter and Ursula Laverty were husband and wife, Sydney artists who combined gallery directing and teaching with their painting/sculpting and writing/poetry, and were close friends of the Hinders, their contempories.

Frank Hinder (illustrator). 1932 TAMWORTH, NH DISTRICT NURSE'S TOPOGRAPHICAL MAP ALL HOME OWNERS IDENTIFIED BY NAME INCLUDES PARTS OF ADJACENT TOWNS NAMES, NAMES, NAMES! This is a genealogical researcher's dream! It is a 29 1/2 by 36" topographical wall map of Tamworth, NH. It shows all landmarks of the typical topo map and more.bodies of water, historical sites, elevations, mountains, hills, roads by name, churches, town buildings, Ordination Rock, Quaker areas, Mt Chocorua, cemeteries, Ossipee Mountains and best of all, the names of the home owners beneath each dwelling . The map was made for the benefit of The District Nurse by the Tekton Associates in August of 1932. These maps were invaluable so that visiting nurses could find their patients. Eighty years later some of the properties are still recognizable as being in the same family! All the roads are the same and public buildings still t Since some nurses' patients lived in outlying parts of town or in bordering towns, the following adjacent areas are on the map: Center Sandwich, North Sandwich, Whiteface, Wonalancet, Albany, Madison, Silver Lake, Ossipee and Moultonboro. Around the perimeter of the map are smaller inserts with more detail of concentrated areas: Center of Tamworth, Moultonboro, South Tamworth, West Ossipee, Madison, Silver Lake and Chocorua.
