Covers are virtually pristine and intact except for slight darkening. Corners are sharp and not bumped. A Near Fine copy. Publication No. 3 of the Sacramento Book Collectors Club (SBCC). This is a reprint of John Frederick Morse's history of Sacramento which he first wrote in 1853. Also included is a Historical Note by Caroline Wenzel in which she provides some biographical details about Morse's life. In the back is a brief Historical Sketch about Sacramento by J. Horace Culver which he first wrote in 1851. Notably, Culver published Sacramento's first city directory. Excerpt from back colophon: "One hundred and sixty copies of this work have been printed for the members of The Sacramento Book Collectors Club under the supervision of George T. Smisor, instructor in printing at the Sacramento College. As a class project in fine printing, the typesetting, page makeup, and printing were done by the following students: James Abraham, Alex Battistella, Bernard Feinberg, Joseph Matranga, Donald Nepstead, Norman Piece. . Bookbinding was done by Silvius and Schoenbackler, bookbinders, Sacramento.".

Original leaf of King James Bible printed before 1650 'intended for private ownership rather than Church Pulpit use.' - from the 'Affadavit of Originality' leaf of the 8 page pamphlet accompanying the leaf. Leaf is 6.75 x 9 inches and is from 'Numbers, Chap. ix, x.' Distributed by The Bible Museum, Goodyear, Arizona. Leaf is water stained, mildly discolored, and with small edge chips not affecting the text.
