Titel 'Poesie' in historisierenden Versalien, mit weissen Moiré-Vorsätzen u. alls. Goldschnitt. Ca. 120 Bll., davon beschrieben sind 22 Bll. (= 43+1 SS.) mit Gedichten von ca. 4 versch. Händen (davon die ersten 31 SS. von der selben Hand), grösstenteils in deutscher Kurrentschrift. Seiten unterschiedlich stockfleckig (eher blass, mässig störend). Leichtere Alters-, Lagerungs- u. Gebrauchsspuren. Gesamthaft recht gutes Exemplar. - - Lose beigelegt: Einzelblatt mit 3-strophigem Gedicht 'Die Rückkehr des Frühlings', signiert 'Anna Wild' - Bei den Texten der Poesiesammlung handelt es sich grossenteils um Abschriften aus namentlich genannten prominenten Autoren wie z.B. Eichendorff, Schiller, Lenau, Shakespeare u. Walther von der Vogelweide ("Tiusche man sint wol gezogen / rehte als engel sint diu wîp getân"), darunter auffallend häufig jedoch ein 'Georg Müller'. Vom tendenziell romantischen Stil her könnte es sich bei diesem Dichter um Johann Georg Müller (Mosnang SG 1822-1849 Wien) handeln, 'Schweizer Architekt, Dichter und Maler' (B. I. Polasek, in: 27. Njbl. Hist. Ver. des Kt. Sankt Gallen 1957; vgl. ADB). "Müller's Dichtungen bekunden ihrem Inhalt nach sämmtlich das in ihm glänzende künstlerische Talent; sie sind voll von kräftigen Gedanken, originellen Wendungen und Anschauungen, aber nur selten vollendet in der Form" (etc.; Rob. Weber, Poetische Nationalliteratur, Bd. 3, 1867, p. 409; ob und allenfalls wie diese Dichtungen ursprünglich publiziert wurden, ist allerdings nicht eruierbar). - Ferner enthalten sind etliche authentische, sympathisch-laienhafte Gedichte, wie u.a. z.B. Bl. 3 (verso) ein 6-strophiges Lied unter dem Titel 'Hinweisung': "Was bist du denn so gar betrübt / du Herz im Kämmerlein? / Wer stille hofft u. glaubt u. liebt / kann nicht verlaßen sein" (etc.). - In der ersten und längsten Partie, geschrieben in recht geübter und eher (weiblich-) zierlicher Schrift in Spitzfeder, finden sich einige plausibel zeitgenössisch datierte Verse, u.a. 'Gedicht von Bäbeli [Barbara] Keller den 13. Februar 1855. Auf die Hochzeit ihres Bruders im Namen der Mutter' (Bl. 12 r.); 'Am hohen Donnerstag 1855' (Bl. 13 r.); Bl. 13 v. bis 14 v.: 'Sonntagmorgen', nach der letzten Strophe bezeichnet 'Luise Hitz 1859', daran anschliessend 'Zu Mutterlis Geburtstag 1860' a. Bl. 15 r. wiederum bez. 'Luise Hitz'* - Es folgen in schwungvoll-enthusiastisch-männlicher Schrift das Studentenlied 'Am Rhein' von Frida Schanz-Soyaux, 1884 ("Wie glüht er im Glase! wie flammt er so hold! / Geschliffenem Topase vergleich ich sein Gold!"), sowie die anscheinend vom selben Schreiber verfasste 'Antwort' an seine von fern Verehrte: "Du Mädchen dort oben, An der Elbe Strand / Du sagst was ich gesucht, Und nirgends fand. [.] Dieß schreibt dir kein Dichter, doch liebt er Sie sehr / Von Schweizerfirnen, Kommt dieser Gruß her / Wo Alpenrosen [und] Edelweiß blühn, Wird mancher Nicht-Dichter / Zum Dichter so kühn". - Daran schliessen 5 Seiten betitelt 'Räthsel' (mit 'Auflösung' a. letztem Bl. r.), mit 12 nummerierten, mit 'M. H.' [Hitz?] monogrammierten Reimversen in der Art von Sinngedichten: "Ein kleines Wörtchen heißt dich leben, Du hauche einen Ton hinein / Dann ist es was allein dem Leben, Kann Farbe, Licht und Wert verleihn" (Nr. 2). Die letzten 3 SS. sind ein ev. ebenfalls laienhaftes 11-strophiges französisches (Jesus-) Lied in französ. Kurrent, betitelt 'Le Père est avec moi!': "Le Père est avec moi, sainte et douce parole / Des lèvres du Seigneur, tombée aux mauvais jour / Elle a, je ne sais quoi, qui touche et qui console, Je voudrais d[an]s ton coeur graver pour toujours."
