Basra is shown to the SE corner with Ashar Creek marked, along with the Palace of the Sheikh of Khorramshahr, the houses of S…heikh Tahir, Ahmed Farraq, the Port Director, the dockyard, Firuziyah Police Post, and other important locations. The Shatt al Arab or Basra River is densely lined with date palms and small settlements along either side. It follows the Tigris up to Ruta Village and Creek, and the Euphrates to "Lake Baghdad" and beyond.
