In his first experiment with a Big Band, Miles here plays flugelhorn instead of his customary trumpet. Ernie Royal is among the five trumpets; Jimmy Cleveland among the three trombones; Lee Konitz on alto sax; Paul Chambers bass, Art Taylor drums, as the Davis/Gil Evans Big Band brings us "The Maids of Cadiz," Brubeck's "The Duke," "Miles Ahead," "Blues for Pablo," "The Meaning of the Blues," J.J.
