First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. H. Lawrence Hoffman (illustrator). 1st Edition. 8vo., 250pp. First Edition, First Printing with no other printings listed as called for. Bound in quarter red cloth over black paper-covered boards with lettering in silver on spine. Tight and clean throughout with just a slight spine lean. Spot of wear on the top rear edge. Board edges and spine moderately toned. Complete, unclipped dust-jacket, ($2.50), has a couple of nicks and closed edge-tears. Spine and rear paneled soiled and stained. Still bright and presents very well. Though not marked in any way, this came directly from the library of H. Lawrence Hoffman who illustrated the dust-jacket. His son, David Hoffman, the noted documentary filmmaker, has signed a statement with information about his father, the artist, and attesting that the book was from his library. A copy of this is included. A solid collectable copy at a great price.
