    Condition: Fair. 1898. Second Edition. 650 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth covered boards with gilt lettering. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout. End-papers are more notably foxed. Heavy cracking at the hinges with exposed binding material. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends, with fraying cloth and small splits. Gilt lettering has become dull. Book has a slight forward lean. Boards have minor damp and dust stains.

    Condition: Very Good Plus. 1st Edition. Maroon cloth binding. Top page edge a little dusty, browning to endpapers. Good solid binding, very clean text throughout. An excellent example of the standard work of Greco, very scarce in this condition. From the private collection of David Miller, a long-standing member of the Metropolitan Chess Club, he also served as Club President from 1950-1956. Inscribed by Miller to half title page: 'D. Miller, 16 June 1916.' We have several other volumes from this collection, including prize volumes from the Metropolitan Club. Overall condition is Very Good Plus.
