Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. Two near fine, first edition collectible volumes without marks within. Boards show negligible color loss to still sharp tips of pumpkin colored cloth, brown cloth backstrips with bright gilt titles are not bumped. Edges of page blocks show the words Pedigree Associates in red marker on both volumes and Pedigree Associates address stamp on front pastedown. "Magic Books" written neatly and in small font on head of each front board and barely noticeable on brown backstrips. Presumable, because these volumes held magical information for breeders of today. These are presentation copies to the National Sporting Library (never circulated, no exlib marks, pockets or wear) from the Estate of Margaret C. Woolums, former president of The Jockey Club with supporting print out stating so laid in. She then went on to found Pedigree Associates but returned to the Jockey Club in 1995. Containing Stakes Winners and Their Dams; 1st, 2nd and 3rd dams of Stakes Winners A through L. Vol. I has 315 pages. Vol. II has 701 pages. Containing 1st, 2nd and 3rd dams of Stakes Winners M Through Z; Sires of Stakes Winners with information on Stakes won, name of Stakes winner, Sire, value of Stakes race, age, Bruce Lowe family number, color, sex, and year of birth.
