The rear cover has black and white phots of the OTHER 11 Dodger Rookies of the Year including Jackie Robinson 1947, Don Newcombe 1948, Joe Black 1949, Jim Gilliam 1953, Frank Howard 1960 and Steve Sax 1982. Has a nice article on Fred "Dixie" Walker-The Peepul's Cherce. Has black and white photos of Lloyd Waner, Tom Davis, Maury Wills, Don Drysdale, Carl Erskine, Clem Labine. He still holds the following Dodger single season records all achieved in his amazing 1930 season: .393 batting average; slugging .678; hits 241; runs scored 143: extra base hits 94 and total bases 416. Herman finished his six-year Dodger career with a .339 batting average. The book is in good condition. John McGraw said he was one of the greatest natural hitters he had ever seen. Al Lopez, when comparing the great hitters of his time, pointed out that Babe Herman was the real stylist of them all. In 1930, Babe Herman had one of the greatest batting seasons ever- a .393 batting average, 241 hits, 48 doubles, 11 triples, 35 home runs, 130 rbi's and he scored 143 runs. The book has 242 pages and is the only hard back book that Tot Holmes published, all the rest were trade papers. Has a really nice painted front cover by Phil Hanks and has a Willard Mullin cartoon of Brooklyn's Babe on the rear of the Dust Jacket.
