John McGraw said he was one of the greatest natural hitters he had ever seen. Al Lopez, when comparing the great hitters of his time, pointed out that Babe Herman was the real stylist of them all. In 1930, Babe Herman had one of the greatest batting seasons ever- a .393 batting average, 241 hits, 48 doubles, 11 triples, 35 home runs, 130 rbi's and he scored 143 runs. The book has 242 pages and is the only hard back book that Tot Holmes published, all the rest were trade papers. Has a really nice painted front cover by Phil Hanks and has a Willard Mullin cartoon of Brooklyn's Babe on the rear of the Dust Jacket.
