My principal object is to let you know that I am here and that I start in a few days for Semlin on my way to Vienna [.]". - Der englische Arzt und Reisende war Verfasser mehrerer Werke über Ägypten, Syrien u. a. - Rudolf Rt. von Vivenot gründete 1848 den "Konstitutionell-monarchistischen Verein"; als sich die angestrebte Gründung einer patriotischen Partei nicht verwirklichen ließ, zog er sich jedoch aus der aktiven Politik zurück. Seit 1868 Mitglied der Deutschen Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina, wurde er 1872 Vorsitzender des Komitees zur Gründung des Sophienspitals in Wien; daneben war Vivenot Direktor des Unterstützungsvereins für Witwen und Waisen des medizinischen Doktor-Collegiums. - Der Brief mit zwei etwas lädierten Siegeln und kl.
