Very good to excellent condition, with light age toning and minor abrasion at right and bottom edges. Decorative eagle at top. Most prominent among the views is one of the Hotel at Matagorda, Texas, with the name "Colonado House" on the front. I…t has an unidentifiable flag flying over it. The imprint indicates that the views were drawn by Helmuth Holtz and Lithographed by Ed. Lang of Hamburg. Milgram MT-LS-1: "This is an interesting lettersheet because it appears to have been printed in Hamburg, Germany, although it may only be saying that the engraver was from Hamburg." Milgram assesses its rarity as R-3, "Less than 5 known".
