There is bumping, rubbing, scuffing, soiling, tanning and chipping to the boards and edges. There are open and closed tears to the edges of the boards. Very heavy rub wear to the boards. Tanning and dust soiling to the edges of the pages. There is tanning to all the pages overall. Vol. I: Previous owner's name is written on the top of the second free end page. There is staining to the bottom half every page in the book. Possible mostuire damage may have caused the staining. Pages are wavy due to the staining/browing of the pages. Small open tear to the bottom edge of page 376. The thread of the binding is visible on page 377 (stitched threading). There is a small black smudge on the bottom of page 376 that is about 1 inch tall and 1/4 inch wide. Volume II has tanning and foxing to pages. There is staining to the bottom half every page in the book. Possible mostuire damage may have caused the staining. Previous owner's name is written on the top of the second free end page. Small open tear on the FFEP. Two small black smudges on pg. 405. Volume II has heavy rub wear as well to the boards with parts of the marbling removed from the rubbing. There are also a few black smudges on the the third free end page. Volume I: 381 pages. Volume II pages 385-709.; 4to 11" - 13" tall.
