First edition. *John Allsebrook Simon, 1st Viscount Simon (1873-1954) is one of only three British politicians to have served as Home Secretary, Foreign Secretary and Chancellor of the Exchequer. He also served as Lord Chancellor. From 1922 to 1924 he was deputy leader of the Liberal Party. He was opposed the 1926 general strike.
