Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Later printing (?). Octavo, 331pp., illustrated. Though there is no "first edition" statement on the copyright page, the gutter code E4 indicates a January 1963 printing, thus this presumed reprint would have been issued within the first month of the initial publication. A fine, crisp copy in a near f…ine dust jacket, just a tinge faded on the spine, with some creases to the crown. This copy SIGNED and amusingly, generically inscribed bu Hopper on the front free endpaper: "Please don't lend it, make your friend buy this [book?] yrs. Hedda Hopper.".

Cloth. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition, First Printing. A very interesting autobiography by Hollywood's best known gossip columnist, Hedda Hopper. She inscribed the book in blue ink on the front free endpaper, "To "Mary Peters"/ A grand lady who likes to read--/Bless you/Hedda Hopper." The book is bound in black paper boards… with blue and gold titling on the spine. Overall, the book is in fine condition but for very slight cocking and very minor touches of wear on the page edges. The dustjacket is price-clipped and shows minor rubbing around the spine but overall a very sold nice dustjacket protected by an archival dustjacket. Although Hedda Hopper appeared in more than 120 movies, usually playing a society woman, she was best known as the hard-hitting and sometimes vicious gossip columnist for the Los Angeles Times who had along-running feud with Louella Parsons. Her trademark fashions included her large flamboyant hats. She was a staunch Republican and supported the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) hearings. It will be interesting to read this book and hear her side of things, don't you think? Near Fine in Archival Plastic Dustjacket.
