A very scarce work declaiming Presbyterianism as ESTC citation number R29845. Collated, complete. Signatures run as A-G. Additional title page bound after title, 'Antiquity Triumphing over Novelty; or, Presbytery Proved Popish not Episcopacy'. 'The Authors Letter to an Anti-Episocpall Minister Concerning the Government of the Church' has a separate title page, but a continuous pagination and register, and is also dated 1661, though it is stated that it was written in 1651. Rebound in a quarter morocco binding. Religious works of this period offer an interesting looking into the changing face of religion in Western Europe following the Formation. Ink annotations to the margins of the reverse of leaf B1, ink has offset to the facing leaf, and to the reverse of leaf G4. Closed tear and loss to leaf F4, causing loss to roughly four words.
