Soiling, toning/foxing, and some stains to leaves with many still uncut at their top edges; bottom edges and fore-edges are roughly cut, i.e. untrimmed, with varying wear (creasing, curling, tears, etc.,) to overlaps. Several initial leaves have slender jagged tears/indentations at their lower fore-edge margins. Printer Jeremiah Hughes (1783-1848) had an initial career as a silversmith in Annapolis circa 1805-1820 but became the owner-publisher of the town newspaper "The Maryland Republican" in the early 1820s (the paper was started in Annapolis in 1809).
