Hardcover. Condition: Very Good Plus. African Heart-Beat: A Novel. Here is a rather rare book. I found only one other copy for sale on the Internet. It was published by John Long Ltd., a London-based publishing house that was absorbed into Hutchinson & Co. It is not dated. Google Books and WorldCat have it published by John Long in 1946. WorldCat says that there were five editions printed between 1946 and 1947 by John Long. You can see the red covers in the photographs provided. They are perfectly clean. They have held up very well. There are a few instances of very light rubbing on the edges and corners, there's a little crinkling at the top of the spine, and the spine, along with a narrow vertical strip of the front adjacent to the spine, is faded to pink. The black lettering on the spine is very bright. The book is square and tight and very solidly bound, no issues in that regard. The pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I didn't see any soiling. The inside covers and end papers are perfectly clean. No one has written their name or anything else anywhere in this book. And there aren't any markings or attachments. I found only one crease, a turned down corner.
