Twelve issues of this periodical (continuously paginated), separate table of contents, covering diverse topics such as: On the Structure of the Candelabrum; On Surface Decoration; Bookbinding and Fancy Leathergoods; The Pulpit in the Church of Sta. Croce in Florence; The Handle in Antique Vessels; Crystal Manufacture and Jewellery; and more. Profusely illustrated with linecuts. Wear and rubbing to covers; some dark stains and a bit of dampstaining on several pages (not affecting text); some soiling.

Decorative Cloth Hardback. Condition: Fair. First Edition. 576pp. Complete set of issues 1 to 36 bound in one heavy volume. Undated, but from various clues within the text I reckon it to be 1870 to 1872 (+ or - 1 year). Some looseness at hinges with both boards being held by the strings but content still well held together. Some foxing/staining but no deliberate marks. Very small (less than 1 inch) light moisture stain in top corner of last few pages in margin only. Contains hundreds of illustrations including over 200 full page double sided plates. Most plates have no foxing or minimal foxing but a few have more (please see sample pics attached). 13 x 10 inch. Weighs 2.7kg. additional P&P may be requested.

Copiously illustrated with engraved examples of decorative woodwork & ironwork etc. Original decorated cloth is rather worn but apart from some sporadic light spotting & a couple of soiled pages at rear, contents are excellent.

Illust, 13 x 10.5, 1/2 leather with marbled boards and gilt lined and lettering on spine, 192 pp. Covers worn, scratched, chipped, soiled, spotted, abrasions to leather, corners bumped, spine tips peeling and missing small pieces, front outer hinge cracking, inner hinges cracked & covers loose, contents soiled, spotted, stained, offsetting, foldout patterns after each chapter are very brittle, torn, separated & missing small pieces, missing pages 3/4 and 83/84. Articles on the Vienna Exposition, ornamentation, filigree, German medieval wood architecture etc. Wonderful engravings throughout, many are of architectural elements.

Half-Leather. Condition: Very Good. This is a very good hardcover copy in the original binding of leather spine and corners and dark pebbled cloth boards. The leather is tooled in gilt, with raised bands on the spine and gilt borders on the covers. This is volumes 3 and 4 bound together. Generally very clean inside, but some light foxing, a previous owner name on the endpaper, and a light moisture stain (in faint outline) to the lower edge and margin of the last pages of Volume IV. A journal of decorative arts, illustrating a whole range of decorative arts, including metalwork, ceramics, furniture, stone carving and textiles. Beautifully printed with highly detailed engravings on almost every page. Many full-page plates. 13" high X 10" wide, 192 & 192 pages. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
