Hardback. 8vo. pp 127 + 9 blank lined pages + 31 page appendix and index. 19.5 x 15,5 cm.The lined blank pages were intended for owners of the book to carry on their own chronology for a hundred years or so. The book (Latin text) consists of historical dates and events in tabular form accordi…ng to the Jewish calendar with year 1 starting with "Adam & Eva creati", year 30: "Cain occidit Habel" etc. From the birth of Jesus."Maria mater Christi nascitur", "Nativitas Salvatoris incidit in 42nd annum Augusti Imperatoris". Continued until 5551 according to Jewish numeration and 1589 according to Christian years with "Henricus IIII. Rex Navarrae, fit Rex Galliae" as the last entry in 1589. Bound in later yellow speckled cloth with title on leather gilt lettered spine label. Small label at lower spine with library position number ( book has very minor ex library atrributes, this label and small neat round stamp on verso of title page Bibliothek Meclen, Bitter U. Landschaft.)' VG with very clean text. Rare. Can find little on Gislo- he appears to have been a professor at Upsala University (Doctor of Theology.).
