Er war SPD-Mitglied, trat aber aus, weil er gleichzeitig Mitglied der Deutschen Friedensgesellschaft war und die SPD einen Unvereinbarkeitsbeschuß gegen die DFG ausgesprochen hatte. Er war auch Freimaurer und wurde während der NS-Zeit politisch verfolgt und mit Schreibverbot belegt. Später engagierte er sich auch im Hamburger Ableger der "Weißen Rose". Der Mitherausgeber Zelck (1878-1965) war Pädagoge, Jugendpolitiker, Pazifist, Freidenker und ebenfalls NS-Verfolgter, er leitete nach dem Krieg das Hamburger Jugendamt. Sprache: de.
