This Austrian-born American baritone and occasional composer was popular in concert, on the radio and television; he sang the occasional opera and made a few brief film appearances such as "Broadway Melody of 1938." Signed Program, 8vo (5½" X 8½"), 4pp, n.p., n.y. Very good. Mild edgewear and faint mounting traces on middle third of rear wrapper; a number of small inked notes on front wrapper. Attractive program on buff stock for Gorin's appearance at the "Community Concert Association," listing a dozen assorted compositions by Rossini, Chopin, Tschaikowsky and even two compositions by Gorin himself. He signs large and bold in blue ink near the top. Also signing vertically across the front in bold pencil is his piano accompanist, fellow Austrian-turned-American Adolf Baller (1909-94). Inner page (2) contains biography of Gorin and "Annotations" (3 and verso p. 4) on each song. Undated, but dated 19 April 1940 at the top in ink.
Composer. Document Signed, 2 pages - recto and verso of 1 page, dated September 25, 1941. This document is Gorin's application for a driver's license. Signed twice by Gorin, once on the front and once on the back: "Igor Gorin." Also has Gorin's right thumb print. In excellent condition. Signed.

Igor Gorin (also known as Charles Igor Gorin) (1904-1982), born October 26, 1904, Ukraine; died March 24, 1982, Tucson, Arizona; Russian born Composer, singer and actor; came to the USA in 1933 and became a US citizen in 1939; educated at the Vienna Conservatory (on scholarship) with Victor Fuchs, he debuted as a singer with the Czech State Opera; his American debut came in 1939 at the Hollywood Bowl, and he also sang on films and radio. Joining ASCAP in 1941, his popular-song compositions include "Lament"; "Caucasian Song"; "Safe by de Lawd"; "Lullaby"; "Within My Dreams"; films include: "Broadway Melody of 1938" 1937 and "Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor" 1965.
