The Florentine author Ilaria Ciseri published the 2003 Werk Il Romanticismo. 1760-1860: La Nascità di una nuova Sensibilità, which has now been presented in German language under the simpler title "Die Kunst der Romantik," 400 pages heavy, printed art paper in format 30 x 30 cm, in a dark canvas cover with golden stamping font. German edition to more than 500 pictures, which slightly overdriven color actually has a "shining panorama of this fascinating artistic epoch" (blurb). The image selection offers the presentation rarely seen works from Italian museums, from Russian or French-owned, but they could hardly be made on quality: with preference for works of late romantic history painters including Francisco Hayez, Francesco Podesti and Giuseppe Sabatelli. The early Romantics presented include Pierre Antoine and Jacques Cathelineau and works from the Musée Ancien Evêché in Evreux and Musée d'Orsay. Size: 11¾" - 12½". book.
