All illustrations have been tipped in and many drawn specifically for this book. The impressive list of artists includes notable illustrators of the age: Alexander Stuart Boyd, Gordon Browne, Frank Dadd, Frederick Charles Dickinson (1876-1967, the author's son who became a successful commercial artist), Charles Dixon, William Hatherell, Henry Marriott Paget, A J Balliol Salmon, as well as the author's own contributions. Condition: This copy is in good plus condition for age. There is a little bleeding from the binding to the top of the fore-edge, some sunning to the top edge of the front board and light rubbing. However, a rare book with no recorded copies in the British Library, COPAC etc. Signed by Author(s).

The print features a montage of playful scenes and dog portraits (four are named) depicting 'a day in the life of' the bulldogs owned by the well-known bulldog enthusiast, Mr. J. Pybus-Sellon. Pedigree bulldog 'King Cole' (b.1875) is pictured as is 'Royal George', 'Queen Mab and King Cole Junior'. Fine, pin-sharp image (approx 9.5 in x 13.5 in) on a page size of approx. 11 in x 16 in.
