Trade Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Obrion, Chris - Illustrations (illustrator). 130 Pages. The author shares her humorous observations on Southern men, the Southern accent, and Southern attitudes towards football, hunting dogs, and food. You will commence to laugh when you read the first page of this hilarious tongue-in-cheek survival guide for innocent Yankee females who become entangled with Southern males, and you will still be laughing when you finish reading the final page. It's that kind of a book.Claudia Greco, whose experience with Homo spiens Dixiensis has been as revelatory as it as been amusing, bases her manual for dealing with such creatures on the premise that there are twelve basic ground rules that any Northern woman must observe if she wants to survive a relationship with a Southern man. The Care and Feeding of Southern Men also demonstrates what happens when the aforementioned Yankee female is tacky enough to violate those rules. There is first-hand insight into such problems, too, as What To Do When You Go Camping with a Southern Man; How to Handle, or in any event learn to coexist with, Football as a Revealed Religion; How to Locate and Identify a Genuine FFV; and numerous other crucially important intersectional conundrums. And, be it noted, it's not a one-way street, either; the mores ofthe Big Apple and its surrounding territories come in for equally as much no-holds-barred scrutiny as those of the states of the onetime Confederacy. Trade Paperback. Condition: Fine. Delf, Brian -Illustrations (illustrator). First Printing. 48 Pages Indexed. The rapid development of the tank as an offensive weapon following its introduction in World War I gave artillery theorists cause for concern during the 1920s and 1930s. By the beginning of World War II anti-tank guns had been developed, initially at around 37mm and 2 pounds in weight of shot. By the end of the war, monster anti-tank weapons were being developed, able to penetrate an armour thickness of up to 200mm at a range of 1,000 yards. This book explores the British efforts to keep up in a war of development, which saw heavier and more powerful guns eventually replaced by experimental ideas in an attempt to stop the German onslaught.
