Leather. Condition: Fine. Illustrations by Mitchell Hooks. (illustrator). Signed Limited Edition. Green leather with gilt decorations, spine with four bands. No Flaws or Blemishes but minimal shelf handling; Still Gift Quality. Bindings are very tight. A bit of off-setting (toning) above/around the loose tissue-guard on the signature. Signed by Hersey on the third free endpaper, with tissue guard. 1945 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the bonding of an American officer and the townspeople of Adano, in Italy, during World War II.
