A native of Leflore County, Mississippi, author Frank Smith (1918-1997) was elected to the US House of Representatives for six terms from 1951 to 1962 where after he was appointed by President Kennedy to the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Valley Authority on which he served until his retirement in 1972. Previously sold by Baumann Books and coming with their descriptive sheet. Also included is the plain brown portfolio that originally housed the prints.
