(Binding signed ; Reliure Diguet Paris). (Upper joint of volume II is split but without causing weakness of the binding). Printed on fine quality paper in an attractive typography. French pre-war '' Who is Who '' in a luxury edition. Most of the entries ( in all ca. 3000) are illustrated with a portrait. Allthough the editors claim that is was their aim to achieve an unbiased choice of public figures to be included in the publication we are not sure that they succeded. Many of the entries carry also a certain laudatory whiff. Nevertheless this is a very nice publication with many interesting information on famous French figures which would be hard to find elswhere.
