Folding map printed in black and approximately 12 x 20 inches. The road from Holtville to Yuma is still planked in this map (it was paved over in 1926) and the main highway portrayed is the 'Ocean to Ocean Highway' which was later designated as Route 66. Fine condition.

The first automobile route through the Imperial Valley was a plank road completed in October 1912. Includes a photograph of a San Diego and Arizona Railroad bridge (the railroad was completed in November 1919) and earlier San Diego County construction projects along and near the state highway to Imperial Valley: the Pine Valley bridge (contract issued 1917), Southerland bridge, Moreno Dam (probably after it was raised 5 feet in 1917), etc. Includes a folded three-panel "Panorama of San Diego." Rocq 7475. Several mild stains to covers, a very good, internally fine, copy. OCLC reports 6 copies. (#168947).
