4to. 4 pp. on bifolium. An exhibition entry form completed by Inchbold, offering two oil paintings for the American Exhibition of British Art: "Midday on the Lake of Thun, Switzerland" and "In March (When the primrose flower peeped forth to give an earnest of the spring)". The completed form was probably returned to William Michael Rossetti, the secretary of the exhibition, who used the verso to make a list of artists, the number of works, and mediums. A total number of 111 artist names were written to this list. - The American Exhibition of British Art was organized by Captain Augustus A. Ruxton. As an art enthusiast, Ruxton came up with the idea of exhibiting British Art in America, possibly in New York and other cities. He hired Rosetti as a secretary in 1856 to fulfil his dream. Between 1857 and 1858, the exhibition toured New York, Philadelphia, and Boston, where 356 works by British artists were exhibited. - Browning, minor stains, edges trimmed, folding marks.
