(bookplate of G.J.Jaspers on upper pastedown, slightly soiled). Contemporary annotation in a fine hand on verso leaf 8: Quid tibi nobiscum ludi scelerate magister. ("What have you to do with us, accursed teacher" - Martial, Epigrams IX/68) Campbell 459; ILC 1924. The third edition by Jacobus van Breda of the Dialogus Salomonis et Marcolphi. Very rare. Only 6 copies in public libraries; one in the Netherlands (KB; ex bibl. F.Vergauwen). Dated by Ina Kok, Woodcuts, between 30 May 1493 and 31 Dec.1495; by Hellinga Printing Types between 16 Nov.1492 and 7 Aug.1496.

With large woodcut on title-page; rubricated, rubricated initials, some old (contemporary?) marginal annotations. Modern simili-parchment boards. (tiny marginal holes in the last 15 leaves most unobtrusively repaired) The Auctoritates Aristotelis provided the principal conclusions of Aristotle and his traditional commentators book by book. These were followed by similar brief conclusions from other writers. Of 27 incunable editions of this recension, with a preface pointing out its usefulness to preachers and to arts students, three editions were published in the city of Deventer (Paffraet 1489 and 1499 and this one).
