This volume commences with a summary of the tribal groups of provinces of southwestern China by the author, a German anthropologist who spent much of her life and career in China and Taiwan. This volume then reproduces six further, related, ethnological studies, dating from 1942 to 1960, all originally published in other scholarly journals. (See image for content details). While photos are not high resolution (photocopy quality) the material gathered in this volume is now otherwise difficult to track down. All papers except one in English (one is in original German). Bound in gold stamped black Buckram - binding sound and pages clean and unmarked. 226 pp., over 70 b&w photos, woodcuts and sketches, 1 map. Size: 19 x 14 cm.

Es handelt sich hier um eine Sammlung von 7 Artikeln aus verschiedenen Fach-Zeitschriften aus dem Zeitraum 1942 bis 1960. Inez de Beauclair war eine in Deutschland geborene Ethnologin und Anthropologin mit einer über 50 Jahre währenden Forschungs- und Publikationstätigkeit vorwiegend im Raume Südwestchina (Yünnan), Taiwan - Formosa und Südsee (u.a. Yap). Sie starb 1981 auf Taiwan.
