Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Included. 1st Edition. William R. Scott, publisher, copyright 1941. Gift inscription inside front cover dated Christmas 1941. First (only?) edition. Hardcover, paper over boards, just about 9 inches tall and 7-1/4 inches wide. Full-page illustration followed by text on facing page the… predominant pattern throughout book. Former child owner's bookplate and inscription inside front cover and on first page--no other marks in book. The paper covering the boards is splitting along spine, with small chunk missing at head of spine and stressed (cracked) at tail of spine. Book otherwise in very good condition. No tears or stains. The dust jacket is present, tucked at rear of book. It has split completely into two halves and has chipping and tears. Same illustration on jacket as on front board of book. All illustrations in sepia tones (brown or reddish-brown). Interesting and probably scarce item. I've seen online that another book by Vorse sold at auction for $50 some years ago, but I could find little about this title. More info and photo to meet your specs by request.
