Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Inez Storer (illustrator). 1st Edition. The story of how the first American Christmas carol came to be written, centering on Jean de Brebeuf and the Huron Indian tribe. Illustrated with numerous drawings, many full page, by the listed Californian artist, Inez Storer, who seems to have illustrated very few books. Lovely beige cloth boards, lettered in red and blocked in red with an illustration on upper cover. Top edge stained red. Front endpaper carries a name in black marker, beneath which is a signed inscription by Inez Storer: "Dear Jay - It was a great experience to do this - good luck with your project. Love Inez, 1985 Spring". Small area of the top stain is faded and there is a slight knock to top edge of rear board. A near fine copy in very good, price-clipped dust jacket with wrinkles to rear panel (probably from damp), and some internally reinforced chips and nicks to extremities. A nice copy of a book with some important artwork, and signed by the artist. Signed by Illustrator(s).
