Bookplate on the…front pastedown. A very good to fine copy. AB 7716. Narrative of the voyage of the 'Isabel,' an independent provisioning transport commanded by Sir E. A. Inglefield and sponsored by Lady Franklin. The ship made its way to latitude 79 20 N via Davis Strait to Disko, then northward through Melville Bay and Smith Sound, before returning to Beechey Island and then England by way of Lancaster Sound and Barrow Strait. Inglefield received the RGS Gold Medal for his extensive discoveries in the North. This was the copy of noted Arctic historian, John Bockstoce.
