Edition originale de ce célèbre traité des jeux de société comp…osé par Innocenzo Ringhieri et dédié à la reine de France, Catherine de Médicis. Le recueil contient les règles de 100 jeux et passetemps, cartes, dés, échecs. A la fin de chacune des dix parties figure un poème de l'auteur : deux poèmes en stanze, deux sonnets, un capitolo, deux madrigaux, une sextine, une ballata, une canzone, un distique, et le long poème de la Favola d'Aristeo e di Proteo (f. 70 v°-75). Une seconde édition fut publiée par Bonelli en 1553 et Hubert Philippe de Villiers donna de l'ouvrage de Ringhieri une traduction française (Lyon, Pesnot, 1555). Parmi les rares ouvrages ayant appartenu à Montaigne que nous connaissons encore se trouve un exemplaire de cette édition originale, conservé à la BnF. Reliure plein parchemin taché fin XVIIe ou début XVIIIe, pièce de titre maroquin, très beau papier vergé, bien conservé, quelques rousseurs, petite mouillure marginale. Rare ouvrage, exemplaire très beau.
