An excellent hardcover copy of a Modern Library early reprint, with dustjacket: book near fine and dustjacket very good. There is no First Modern Library Edition 1954 statement on the copyright page. The last date on the copyright page is 1943, but it is an early reprint of the Modern Library first edition (which was in 1954). Green boards, gilt front board and spine lettering and decoration, 7 1/4 x 5 inches, top edge black, decorated endpapers, 214 pp. Book near fine (faint sticker residue, top fore-edge of front board; some pencil check marks on the contents pages; otherwise pages unmarked and binding strong and square). Dustjacket very good (modest chipping and wear, top edge; not price-clipped ($1.95); 415 titles listed on the inner aspect). The first two of Eudora Welty's published books of stories ?- A Curtain of Green and The Wide Net ?- are presented in their entirety in this volume of twenty-five stories. (K051).
