Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Certainly an unusual subject for a children's book, this 47 page book measures 8x10.5", has a color cover, many black and white illustrations. Cover is worn rounded at the corners, worn edges, scuffed, cloth spine worn bare. Front and rear hinges open, front endpaper chipped and torn with pencil name, soiled frontis and title page. Very respectful first chapter on gypsies or Romany people, chapters on dwarves and giants treat these people as freaks, even speaking of "pet dwarves." The book ends with a historical look at troubadours. Many black and white illustrations. Uncommon. All orders packed with care, most dust jackets protected by Brodart sleeve, independent bookseller since 2011.
