Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Isabel Veevers (illustrator). 1st Edition. A lovely copy of this rther scarce first edition. Fresh looking yellow cloth boards with a kangaroo motif on the front board and crisp title lettering on the spine. Clean pages throughout albeit a little lean on the spine (that is to say, slightly cocked) and mild foxing to the early pages. Browning and foxing somewhat more so to the rear paste down and opposite page. School prize plate stuck on the front paste down page, dated 1945 to one Dorothy Hey and stamped by Thurlstone Wesleyan Sunday School. The dust jacket is bright and not price clipped with a bold illustration of young people looking on at a giant Kangaroo. I want to say it looks quite art deco, but I'm no expert. There is some significant edge wear and a few chips and tears to the extremities of the jacket, particularly at the head of the spine which has some loss. In all though this is a very presentable copy of this scarce first edition. Jacket is now protected by a removable clear sleeve.
