Jacket now in removable protective wrap. Book with sunning to upper edges of boards, corners and spine bumped and periodic light scattered spotting. No inscriptions or notes. Illustrated. Printed on thin, cream, war economy paper. 192pp. A wartime adventure where a canal boat heads up the Grand Union from London but somehow the children end up in the hands of some Nazis and also involving the Catholic church (the Sykes family are half-English and half-Irish American which makes for a complicated plot in a wartime British book).
