First edition. 224pp., 86 black and white figures, both on plates and within the text, and 8 pages of advertisements at the end of the book. This is the first comprehensive book written which includes details of manufacture and testing of almost all types of printing rollers. It describes the results of ten years' investigation in trying to find a printing roller that was completely satisfactory, and although the author's experience has been mainly concerned with letterpress printing, the rollers described are also used in lithographic printing. The book is bound in the original grey cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping to the top of the spine and a little faint damp marking on the fore edge of the boards. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with light soiling and the spine is slightly sunned. The spine ends are bumped with a tear of about 1/2" on the bottom rear spine corner. The tear has been repaired and the spine ends reinforced with strips of tape on the reverse of the wrapper.
