First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm, near-mint vinyl disc, Laurie Mastersound 2002 (the 1962 reissue, almost certainly mono) in a very-good cardboard jacket with only the most minor ringwear to reflective gold surface, but split open across the top. The foursome offer Pomus & Shuman's "A Teenager In Love" (of course), "I Wonder Why," "No One Knows," "Don't Pity Me," and, interestingly enough, Rodgers & Hart's "Where Or When." How long did it take those session producers to figure out the kids wanted ROCK 'N ROLL? (Actually, it took till exactly 1963-64, when American "talent developers" were shocked to see George Martin and the Beatles selling millions after refusing to fill their albums with covers of "Autumn Leaves" and "Red Sails in the Sunset.") Jacket notes by Dick Clark. Catalogs $150; here reduced from $32.
