Condition: molto buono. silografia da tre matrici tirate in colore giallo e bruno di varie tonalità, mm 568x382 e margini. Grandiosa scena raffigurante Cristo e gli Apostoli nel tempio, derivata da un dipinto di Tiziano. La pala d'altare eseguita per la Chiesa di S. Spirito in Isola intorno al 1550 si trova ora a S. Maria della Salute. Legenda firmata, con dedica al nobile J.S. Makinzie, nell'alto della composizione. Il Jackson, innovatore nel 18° secolo dell'incisione a chiaroscuro, produsse a Venezia, sotto il patrocinio del Console Smith, una serie di 24 stupende silografie eseguite con la medesima tecnica del chiaroscuro da tre o quattro matrici che venne edita dal Pasquali nel 1745. Rara e assai decorativa.Three colours etching (different tones of brown), 568x382 mm and margins. Grand scene depicting Christ and the Apostles in the temple, derived from a painting by Titian. The altarpiece executed for the Church of S. Spirito in Isola around 1550 is now in S. Maria della Salute. Signed inscription, with dedication to the nobleman J.S. Makinzie, at the top of the composition. Jackson, an innovator in 18th-century chiaroscuro engraving, produced in Venice, under the patronage of Consul Smith, a series of 24 stupendous etchings executed with the same chiaroscuro technique using three or four matrices that were published by Pasquali in 1745.
