Undated but appears to be 1st edition of 1870 (which was undated) numerous B&W illustrations; tightly bound in green cloth with circular inlay of a thrust to front; bright gilt lettering and decorations and black decoration to spine and front; bevelled edges; a little wear to cloth on some edges and corners (mainly back panel); back panel has blind-stamped decoration and a little discolouration. Top page fore-edge browned; faint hint of foxing to other fore-edges. Internally, a faint suggestion that owner's name might have been eradicated from top of title page; just a few small, pale discolouration marks here and there; otherwise a clean, tidy, attractive copy. Used - Very Good. VG hardback.
