Copies of the UK edition are extremely scarce, especially in such wonderful condition and with the original dust jacket (which is protected). The jacket is better in the hand than it looks in my photo! The author's third novel after Go Tell It On The Mountain and Giovanni's Room, widely regarded as an outstanding - some would say essential - example of modern American fiction. Very rare to find a copy as good as this. A great addition to any Baldwin collection. Another Country is a powerful, emotionally charged novel exploring love, race, sexuality, and identity in 1950s New York. Baldwin examines the complexities of human relationships against a backdrop of social tension and personal struggle. Celebrated for its raw honesty, lyrical prose, and keen insight into societal and personal conflicts, it remains a seminal work in American literature and an essential addition for Baldwin collectors. Much scarcer for the collector than the large print run pf the American first edition. A stunning novel.
