Barrie, renowned author of "Peter and Wendy" and "Peter in Kensington Park", stories which never grow old in the hearts of readers. This edition of "Quality Street" was published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1950. It was the 32nd impression of the book, and the sixth in this form. The book, a hardcover, is illustrated with black-and-white line drawings by the great artist, Hugh Thomson. Briefly the play centers upon two sisters, both still single, who start a school for "genteel children". As we all know, there is no such thing as "genteel children". This makes for much mischief and amusement. Other amusement is afforded by the suitors of the two sisters. The play was a great hit on the London stage, when it was first produced in 1902. Stapled binding is tight with secure hinges. Red wraps have a lightly toned spine with glued matter residue on rear panel and a hold on backside of map, as pictured. Minor discoloration patch on center of front panel.

Some wear at bottom edges, and wear and smudging near top edge front panel. Pages lightly toned. ***A few small stains on page-edges.*** As the book's spine is so lovely, you may want to dispense with the rather ugly, price-clipped dustjacket; the laminate has separated in spots, especially over the hinges, and is missing at the edges, which have accumulated some grime as a result. Small "dot" label on dj spine.
