A very good copy of the first edition of this beautifully illustrated children's book. In excellent condition especially considering it was published to war economy standard. Dust Jacket: Turquoise/blue with illustration and white lettering to front and spine; clean and bright but some rubbing to edges and spine and significant loss from the middle of the front top edge and the bottom front right hand corner; not price clipped; now protected. Cover: Illustrated board similar to dust jacket but with 1/8 cream cloth spine with red lettering; very bright and clean, some slight rubbing to edges. Internally: clean and tightly bound; slightest darkening to page edges; owner inscription on front free end paper and piece of pale blue paper pasted onto top right of front paste down for no apparent reason except possibly to cover a previous inscription; too delicate to attempt removal. Many beautiful line drawn and coloured illustrations. 48 pp. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
