La plupart de l'invention de l'auteur : canons, balistique, pyrotechnie, ponts, bombes, barils à feu, grenades, pétards, arquebuses, mortiers, fusées, etc. Parmi les plus notables, on distingue l'échelle à coulisse (p. 158) et les orgues où l'on reconnaît la première idée de la mitrailleuse (p. 208). Jean Appier, dit Hanzelet (1596-1647), fils de Jean Appier, ingénieur des ducs de Lorraine, fut initié à la pyrotechnie et la physique par son père. Il fut graveur sur cuivre, imprimeur de l?Université jusqu'en 1628, puis ?maître des feux artificiels? du Duc de Lorraine Charles IV. This scarce work influenced Appier's later book on pyrotechnics 'La Pyrotechnie'. In the orignal French and in the original vellum binding. A very scarce and fascinating technological work.
