A large, heavy unpaginated photo-art book, perhaps 200p., fullpage b&w photos recto, captions verso, presswork on remarkably thick alkaline paperstock, hardbound in oblong 11x12 inch pictorial grey boards backed with black cloth backstrip spine-titled white. Reproductions, in fact the photo-images themselves, do not appear to be fully professional; rather as if snapshots taken by a talented tourist were blown up to coffeetable dimensions. In other words the item in hand may be a vanity press production bankrolled by someone well-off. Expect mild signs of wear and handling (a small accidental stroke of ballpoint is the most serious) to front cover; the covers, by the way, and the textblock, are contrastingly fully professional. The book is sound, unmarked, and generally clean (beyond the signs of handling we've mentioned).

The Baumard family has been cultivating vines on their Anjou estate since 1634, but Jean (1931 - 2023) was responsible for the quality surge of the domaine's modern era, and for restoring prominence to the dry wines of Savennières and sweet wines of Quarts de Chaume.
