Paperback. Condition: Good. It was Las Vegas' crime of the century. Lonnie -Ted- Binion, ne'er-do-well son of famed casino owner Benny Binion, was found dead in his home. Some claimed, drug overdose. Others speculated suicide. Investigators said murder. Ted's beautiful girlfriend, Sandy Murphy, and her shadowy lover, Rick Tabish, were charged with Binion's murder and the show began. Quicksilver is the story of the trial that rocked Las Vegas. A classic love triangle, a powerful casino family, and a fortune in silver provide the backdrop for this true story of deception, greed, and murder.

Soft cover. Condition: As New. No Jacket. First Edition. First edition stated. In 171 pages of B&W photos and text, Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist John L. Smith and R-J staff photographer Jeff Scheid cover the Year 2000 Las Vegas murder trial of former stripper Sandy Murphy and her lover, Rick Tabish, on charges of conspiring to kill Murphy's boyfriend, ne'er-do-well casino heir Lonnie "Ted" Binion, and steal his millions of dollars worth of buried silver. Murphy reported finding Binion dead on their living room floor, propped up in front of the television set. The defense argued the former junkie died of a drug overdose. The trial ended in convictions, though a second trial later cleared the two of murder charges, leaving the theft conviction standing. (Murphy pursued a civil suit for part of the Binion estate.) Book appears as new and unread. Signed by both author and photographer on half-title page, as well as by the defendant, who signs "Love & Kiss / Sandy." There is also a small (half-inch) brown stain to bottom of this page. Now reduced from $120. Photographs By Jeff Scheid (illustrator). Signed by Author(s).
